Successful adoption by key enterprise customers
01 / Overview
The Corporate Portal gave multi-location and franchise businesses a single place to see how their operations were actually running. It opened a new market segment for the platform by answering a question the existing product could not: what is happening across all of my locations right now?
02 / Problem
Mid-market and franchise customers were managing many accounts that had no relationship to one another. Headquarters had no consolidated view, no way to hold field teams accountable, and no mechanism for keeping brand standards and quality consistent across locations. Every answer required logging into accounts one at a time.
03 / Context
An expansion play aimed at a customer segment the product was not built for. The design had to serve two very different users at once: headquarters staff who need rollups and comparisons, and location teams whose day-to-day workflow could not get heavier because of it.

04 / Process
How it took shape.
- 01
Ran discovery with multi-location and franchise customers to map how work and reporting actually flow between headquarters and the field.
- 02
Identified the pain points that blocked the segment: fragmented account management, no cross-location visibility, no accountability loop.
- 03
Wireframed the portal structure, testing how much could be rolled up before headquarters lost the detail it needed to act.
- 04
Designed the data visualization layer so performance across locations reads at a glance, then drills down into a single site.
05 / Key Decisions
Why it looks the way it looks.
One view, many accounts.
Multi-account management is consolidated into a single portal instead of a login-hopping routine, because the segment's core complaint was fragmentation, not missing data.
Visibility creates accountability.
Surfacing location-level activity to headquarters was the mechanism that made brand standards enforceable. The design leads with comparison, not raw feeds.
Don't tax the field.
Everything headquarters sees is derived from work location teams already do in the product, so the portal adds oversight without adding steps.
06 / Final solution
A headquarters-facing portal that visualizes how multi-location and franchise businesses run: consolidated account management, cross-location performance visibility, and the accountability loop that lets headquarters optimize field operations while holding brand standards and quality steady.
